Kia Holidays On Us Tour Brought Christmas to the Classroom
Throughout December, the Kia Holidays On Us Tour has been dedicated to assisting those in need during the holiday season, and recently the auto maker teamed up with DonorsChoose.org to deliver help to high-need classrooms in San Diego, Phoenix, and Tucson.
DonorsChoose.org is a unique crowdfunding charity service founded in 2000 that has brought more than $380 million to schools in need, and with Kia’s track record of raising $7 million and benefiting over 1.5 million students since just 2012, the two companies seemed to be obvious partners. The campaign involved a road tour through early- to mid-December, which was run by DonorsChoose.org but utilized the all-new 2016 Kia Optima.
Events involved in the Kia Holidays On Us campaign included teacher appreciation events and best-practices funding workshops for educators who want to open a project on DonorsChoose.org. The intent was to not only assist the classroom, but instruct the teachers on how to receive further aid to continue improving the classroom atmosphere. The teamwork between Kia and DonorsChoose.org brought assistance to a number of struggling teachers and students this past holiday season.
