If you’re in Gainesville and looking for something to do over the summer, why not get outside and experience the beauty of the natural world? The Gainesville location of the lauded Atlanta Botanical Garden is now open to the public from April until October. Located off of Cleveland Highway a ¼-mile north of Limestone Parkway, the Atlanta Botanical Garden offers visitors a glimpse of valuable and lovingly cultivated collections of plants and flowers, along with fun events and activities for the whole family.

The Gainesville location is open from Tuesday through Sunday every week with daily hours of 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and is open regardless of weather. A number of educational and learning opportunities are available for the whole family, such as Garden Playtime, Storybook Time, live performances in the Amphitheater, Endangered Species Day, Summer Camp, and more. Plus, you can even rent the Gardens for private use, such as for a wedding.

In addition to that, the Botanical Garden in Gainesville offers the 14th annual Concerts in the Garden summer concert series, allowing visitors to experience live music outdoors at the Ivester Amphitheater. Patrick Dougherty’s Woven Whimsy sculpture is also on display this year, a sculpture created from twigs, branches, and wood that is designed to break down over time due to the biodegradable nature of his medium.

Whether you are a member of the Atlanta Botanical Garden or you’re just looking for one day of fun, the Gardens have something for you to experience. Check the event calender and look for fun activities to do, or simply show up and bask in the joy of the Garden’s vast horticultural collection, which includes many endangered species of plants. You won’t regret it.
