What’s New for the 2018 Kia Forte?

The Kia Forte is an excellent compact sedan and hatchback that has been offering drivers a stylish design and upscale features at a great value for nearly a decade. The 2018 Kia Forte is the fifth model year of the current generation of the Forte. Last year, the Forte’s exterior has been revamped with new headlights and taillights, as well as making the car visually longer and wider. This year’s updates are instead focused more on technology and comfort features, making more of them standard or available at lower trim levels, further adding the the Forte’s already impressive value. This puts the 2018 Kia Forte even further up on the list of attractive compact sedans, giving buyers some excellent features and plenty of visual improvements at a price that beats many of the Forte’s competitors.

One of the main changes to the Kia Forte for the 2018 model year has been to make the base LX trim more attractive. It is already one of the least expensive options when it comes to a compact sedan, but this year it gets a few new features that bring it up to a higher equipment standard. Cruise control is now a standard feature on all LX models, and the Popular Equipment package for the model gets an upgraded infotainment system that, among other improvements, comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for all of your mobile connectivity needs. The 2018 Kia Forte S – the mid-range model, on the other hand, gets a number of visual and convenience improvements. The most obvious are the new stylish 16-inch alloy wheels, which give the model some additional visual pop. The other addition to the Forte S is the sunroof in its Technology Package. This makes it possible to get this popular feature without having to upgrade to the top-end Kia Forte EX. And speaking of the EX, the 2018 Kia Forte EX also gets some extra value in terms of standard features. The much-desired safety features that were formerly a part of the Premium Plus package are now standard on all EX models. Those include the rear cross-traffic alert sensors and a blind spot monitoring system, making both parking lot maneuvers and highway lane changes much easier and safer. While these are relatively small changes compared to some of the big improvements that Kia has made to the Forte in previous years, they add up to produce a car that is not only more stylish and better equipped, but one that provides its drivers with an additional layer of safety as well.
