2016 Kia Optima Refresh Makes For A Lighter, More Attractive Sedan

The Kia Optima got some choice tweaks for its 2016 model. It’s a mid-cycle refresh that should help it keeps its shine and maintain its undeniable charm.

Automotive News noted the changes after the 2016 Kia Optima was revealed in New York at the beginning of April. On the outside, the Optima got “a new chrome accent connects the outer corners of the headlights.” In addition, “more angular headlight assemblies” were added.

More high-strength steel was used in the body of the new Optima. That means “a lighter, stronger body for better fuel economy and handling, and a quieter, smoother ride.”

This time around, Kia seemed to focus a little more on what was happening on the inside. In fact, Kia exec Michael Sprague explained that the automaker had “improved everything” on the inside, such as “providing more space, better ride and handling, more technology and greater refinement.”

The 2016 Kia Optima refresh will also end that embarrassing experience when an oncoming flashes their brights because you’ve forgotten to. Headlights that automatically dim will be an option.
