2015 Kia Sedona Commercial Promises Track-Worthy Capabilities
At Carriage Kia, we think the minivan gets a bad rap. So innate is the cringe-factor in the word minivan that Kia dubbed the 2015 Kia Sedona a “midsize multi-purpose vehicle” when it premiered at the 2014 New York Auto Show.
Taking it a step further, Kia has launched the first ad for the 2015 Sedona, entitled “Racetrack.”
As the name suggests, the Sedona commercial does everything possible to remind potential buyers that Kia’s minivan does more than what most minivans can. It features a black Sedona zooming around the racetrack under the lights, looking fierce and intimidating thanks to some clever editing. For a second, you wouldn’t know you were looking at a minivan, helped considerably by the tracksuit-and-helmet wearing driver who totally isn’t The Stig and definitely won’t engender Kia to the folks at Top Gear.
Given the utility that defines minivans/midsize multi-purpose vehicles, there is a whole family of not-Stigs hanging out in the 2015 Sedona. It’s a catchy and effective way to market the Sedona to a new audience in a New Year, and we’re eager to see what Kia has in store next in its push to make the minivan cool once again.
